2009 Survey on Japanese-Language Education Abroad SUBMIT NOW!
Every three years, the Japan Foundation conducts a survey to ascertain the current state of Japanese-language education overseas. Our deadline has been extended to 26th February, 2010.

Please email survey@jpf.org.au if you have not received a survey or submit it as soon as possible. Alternatively you can print out the questionnaire from our website and fax it to us by clicking here. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
 
Intensive Seminar for Junior Secondary Teachers of Japanese, 18 – 21 January
The JPF, Sydney was pleased to welcome 19 participants from around Australia and New Zealand to our first Intensive Seminar for 2010 for Junior Secondary teachers of Japanese. One teacher from WA said, ‘I had a great experience and the seminar made me really proud of being a Japanese teacher’.

We hope that all the resources created and shared will come into great use!
 
2010 JENESYS Young Japanese-Language Teachers arrive in Australia!
Eight JENESYS teachers arrived in late January to work as assistant language teachers in Australian and New Zealand schools this year. They are very excited about meeting teachers and students of Japanese and are looking forward to an exciting year.

Stay tuned for updates on their experiences!

Name the Neko competition – Winner accounced!
We are please to announce that the name of our neko is ICHI. Tatsu Kuhara is the winner so he will receive a free Happy Family Plan DVD and naming rights. Thank you to all who entered our competition. Please keep an eye out for the release of this DVD in retail outlets near you!

News - Interactive Whiteboard has arrived at JPF, Sydney
At last, we have a SMART Board here at JPF Sydney! This year we are planning to start developing resources for Interactive Whiteboards and plan to organise a one day workshop focused on IWB. We are really looking forward to entering into the technological world and exploring all it has to offer!

私が出会った西オーストラリアの方々は、何も知らずにやってきた外国人教師である私を、広い心で受け容れ、信じ、率直に話をし、仲間として認め、責任ある仕事を任せてくれました。私は、そのことに心から感謝するともに、オーストラリアの懐の深さに目を開かれ、深い敬意を抱くようになりました。

今、西オーストラリアの日本語教育は、地元の「日本語人」たちのすばらしい才能と献身、リソースフルでグローバルな人の繋がりに支えられ、着実に前に進んでいます。わたしは、ここで日本語教育支援に関わってきたことを誇りに思っています。そして、これからもみなさまといっしょに日本語教育の世界を豊かにするために働きつづけたいと願っています。
