2009 Survey on Japanese-Language Education Abroad DEADLINE EXTENSION! SUBMIT NOW!
Every three years, the Japan Foundation conducts a survey to ascertain the current state of Japanese-language education overseas. Our deadline has been extended to 23 March, 2010.

Please email survey@jpf.org.au if you have not received a survey or submit it as soon as possible. Alternatively you can print out the questionnaire from our website and fax it to us by clicking here. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
 
2010 Information for Teachers – New!
To help teachers plan for our contests and to keep informed of upcoming events and contests, The Japan Foundation, Sydney has produced a 2010 brochure. A copy of this will be sent out to your school shortly.

Happy Family Plan – New contest
From March we are running a new contest for Happy Family Plan.

It’s so easy to enter, just go to our website, www.happyfamilyplan.com and in 100 words or less explain your original Japanese game show idea.
The quirkiest and most creative ideas will win Japanese film DVDs.
 
JENESYS In-Japan Teacher Training Program – Apply Now!
As part of the JENESYS program, The Japan Foundation, Tokyo is inviting teachers of Japanese from East Asian countries to participate in a 2 month training program at our Urawa Institute, Japan. The program will commence on 27 May 2010 and finish on 21 July 2010, all costs including airfares will be covered by the Japan Foundation. Applications must be submitted by 17 March 2010.

Japanese Language Grants – Two new local grants available
The Japan Foundation, Sydney is now offering two local grants:
1. Assistance for establishing new Japanese programs;
2. Support Program for Seminars and Conferences furthering Japanese Language Education.

Both of these grants can be applied for year round by filling out an application form. Please click here for more information and application forms.
 
Professional Development
As many of you would be aware, our language consultants travel to states throughout Australia to make presentations at language seminars and conferences. We have now provided guidelines of options that are available. Our language consultants would be happy to discuss any requests or professional development opportunities.

2009 Japanese Language Proficiency Test - Results Announced
The results of the 2009 JLPT have arrived!
Examinees who do not receive their results in the post by mid-March should contact their test site.

Good luck to all examinees who are anxiously awaiting their results!

News - Interactive White board has arrived at JPF, Sydney
At last, we have a SMART Board here at JPF Sydney! This year we are planning to start developing resources for Interactive Whiteboards and plan to organise a one day workshop focused on IWB. We are really looking forward to entering into the technological world and exploring all it has to offer!

Hi everyone. I came to Sydney on the 20th of January 2010 and it is my first time to Australia. I am so excited to be a member of The Japan Foundation, Sydney and am looking forward to working with you.
