| Japanese Film Festival free screening of Happy Family Plan |
At present the Japan Foundation, Sydney is producing a Japanese language and culture DVD resource comprising two discs.
Disc 1 contains the Japanese movie 「しあわせ家族計画 (Happy Family Plan)」and Disc 2 contains Japanese language and culture learning activities based on the movie. This DVD will be released in early 2010. To promote this exciting new project, we held 2 free screenings of the film as part of the 13th Japanese Film Festival in Sydney. These free screenings were held at the Japan Foundation, Sydney and we introduced some chapters from disc 2.
These are some comments on the film and the language and culture activities: ‘A fun introduction to Japanese culture’. ‘This film is great for all types of people and age groups. Many people can relate to it’.
On this day we also showed some video works from ‘Video Matsuri’ and held the ‘Art Speaks Japanese Comes Alive!’ exhibition at our Gallery. This was an exhibition of art works made by Japanese language students using their Japanese language and creative skills.
